Sustaining Engineer
The Sustaining Engineer will be a key contributor to the quality organization and heavily influence the overall quality of the ZincFive family of products. The position reports to the Quality Manager and will work physically onsite at our headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon.
Job Duties:
- Analyze designs and drive changes or modifications
- Responsible for yield improvement of the production line
- Provide high quality support to customers and internal stakeholders
- Independently research solutions, troubleshoot and resolve complex problems by analyzing product data
- Proficiency in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a development environment, including necessary equipment, configuration, and software
- Follows standard engineering/test practices
- Cross-functional project teams including R&D, Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, Planning, Purchasing, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to maintain and improve products
- Manufacturing process technical expert who can provide engineering knowledge and oversight to resolve manufacturing- and quality-related problems with existing products
- Support and lead manufacturing process improvements for ZincFive products in both internal manufacturing facilities and in partnership with external suppliers
- Provides project leadership to improve existing products and associated manufacturing processes
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5+ years in related field
- Intelligent risk taking, integrated thinking, strong leadership, strong problem solving, and technical communication skills
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Experience in electronic/mechanical assembly and test
- Ability to read/understand schematics and PCB layout
- Ability to troubleshoot analog and digital circuits and system level testing
- Ability to develop and execute both manual and automated product tests which could include both visual and audio inspection
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast, changing, and small startup company environment
- Ability to travel in the U.S. and internationally, if needed
- Preferred Skills:
- Assessing risk and problem solving
- Product or industry-specific experience such as battery backup or uninterruptible power supplies
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements such as UL, IEEE, ISO 9000/9001

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Work involves sitting, walking, and lifting up to 35 pounds
- Domestic and international travel by car, airplane, bus & train

- Warehouse and office environment
