Measurement
A Day in the Life:
As a Technical Specialist for Measurement, you will be regarded as the authority in liquids and gas measurement equipment and provide training, mentoring and guidance for enterprise training program content. You will participate in the development and implementation of technical standards and specifications (Liquid/Gas Measurement Systems Engineering Standards) for the equipment as well as leading the team with projects consisting of major scope and complexity. You will be responsible for interpreting technological aspects of business and coordinating with leadership to assure operational success by review and audit of measurement systems, internal and external laboratories and blending facilities.

Your day-to-day work may also include the following:
- Solving hardware and software problems with a variety of control systems
- Assisting in the design, programming, and commissioning of controls and instrumentation for operations and capital projects
- Finding opportunities to improve operator controls system experience by implementing industry leading practices
- Optimizing control system designs to improve process efficiency
- Engaging with project teams for capital projects, including management of small-scale capital projects
- Updating and validating C&E's for responsible assets
- Supporting implementation of all required system updates to keep control systems within compliance
- Leading efforts to implement cybersecurity programs for Williams assets
- Engaging in life critical execution
Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Performs moderately difficult assignments to ensure system integrity, support pipeline operations, maintain compliance and maintain facility equipment
- Troubleshoots/resolves sophisticated problems using technical evaluation, innovation and judgment
- Develops, presents and trains internal and external partners; may mentor others
- Participates in project planning and works closely with company partners
- Leads development and tasks associated with operations, equipment maintenance, technical standards and/or governmental requirements
- Reads, understands and evaluates engineering design documents, contracts and agreements
- Other duties as assigned
- Required: Associates degree or equivalent experience and minimum of six (6) years' experience in oil & gas industry
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field and minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience in field operations/construction or other technical specialty field
Must be willing to:
- Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
- Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
- Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
- Use hand tools
- Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as needed
- May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays
- Preferred: Extensive experience working with one or more flow computers including but not limited to AutoPilot Pro, FloBoss107, ROC809, ROC827, FB2200, Flow-X, OMNI 6000EMust possess valid State Driver's License and clean driving record
- Provides measurement expertise project execution team for specialized applications, non-standard designs, or system-level projects, including equipment specifications, design reviews, MOCs, PHAs, and commissioning support
- Provides support for specialized or sophisticated troubleshooting (Meter proving repeatability and reproducibility issues, Densitometer proving repeatability and reproducibility issues, Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) configuration and programming errors, Sampler and resulting composition errors, Analyzer and product quality errors, mechanical or instrumentation issues with provers, flow transmitter configuration errors, data communications etc.)
- Conducts fabricator, packager, and manufacturer audits and reviews
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
