Structural Project Manager
Spallinger Millwright Services (SMS) is a Structural Steel Fabrication and a Millwright Company. We specialize in custom structural steel fabrication for Schools, Hospitals, and Industrial customers. We have been in business for 30 years and are looking for a Structural Project Manager to add to our team.
We have an opening for an entry level Structural Project Manager.
Structural Project Manager Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work direct with other supervisors / Engineering and Design Manager.
- Drawing/programming with CAD and Solid works knowledge is a plus
- Maintain and organize drawings. Post and distribute all updates as needed.
- Survey required quantities of materials.
- Prepare and process materials orders.
- Schedule and coordinate materials deliveries with Clients and Subcontractors.
- Schedule and monitor deliveries with materials suppliers.
- Process Notices to Ship to Clients and Subcontractors.
- Issue and tracking design Requests For Information (RFIs)
- Prepare panel shop drawings and working sketches, when applicable
Structural Project Manager Skills:
- Degree from a 2 or 4-year University in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Drafting or other construction and/or business related major.
- Intermediate to Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite). Some experience and familiarity with Auto CAD. Experience with Take-off Software, Solid works is a plus.
- Maintain ability to work in different environments, mainly office, but occasional field observations.
- Demonstrated decision-making skills.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.
- Deadline and detail-oriented. Multi-tasking as well as accuracy is essential.
- Use standard business and financial stewardship practices. Clear oral and written communication, tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality are essential.
Required experience:
- Architectural and structural drawing knowledge, CAD, Construction management coursework and / or directly related business management experience. Construction experience and/or an internship within the construction industry is a plus. Familiarity with reading plans and knowledge of construction terms is required.
- Valid state driver’s license
Structural Project Manager Compensation/Benefits: Compensation depending upon experience, we offer salary plus benefits including paid health insurance day 1, paid vacation, and a profit sharing/401(k) plan after qualification period, flexible work schedule and Bonus
