About

The Sac Air District works with local, state and federal government agencies, the business community, and residents to achieve and maintain healthy air quality for Sacramento County. The District has a solid financial base and a stable and effective staff. There are four divisions: Administrative Services — provides the full range of administrative support and fiscal oversight of District programs including budget, accounting, information systems, human resources, facilities and Clerk of the Board. Transportation and Climate Change — responsible for transportation, land use review, mobile sources vehicle and engine technology review and development, and climate change action. Program Coordination — responsible for coordinating all clean air planning duties including planning and emissions inventory; and technical services including air monitoring, and emission reduction credit bank, and rule development. Stationary Sources — processes permits, and ensures compliance with District rules, regulations and permit conditions. The District is governed by a fourteen-member Board of Directors comprised of the members of the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, four members of the Sacramento City Council, and one member representing the cities of Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove, Citrus Heights and Isleton/Galt.
