About the Responsibilities
As a Mechanical or Senior Mechanical Engineer you would guide the CAP in identifying solutions to technical multi-disciplinary engineering problems that require the use of independent judgment and initiative in making technical decisions of considerable difficulty and impact. The Senior Engineer ensures that technical documentation, including plans and specifications, are accurate, complete, and retrievable by those who require such documentation. This position provides technical professional level expertise in designing quality capital projects and asset modifications within established budgetary and schedule guidelines and compliant with county, state, and federal laws and regulations. This position will act as a productive team member, or team leader, on interdependent technical support teams.
This position fully supports the project management function at CAP during design development and construction of projects through preparation of estimates, preparation of consultant scopes of work, evaluation of cost proposals, oversight and review of consultant designs, and review of project submittals.

About the Qualifications
For the Engineer position:
- A Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of mechanical engineering experience (or 3 years with a Master’s Degree)
- Strong communication, team relationship, and organizational skills
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
For the Senior Engineer position:
- Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering
- 8 years of mechanical engineering experience (or 6 years with a Master's Degree)
- Strong communication, team relationship, and organizational skills
- Discipline specific Professional Engineer's license from the State of Arizona or other state, with the ability to obtain Arizona license within one year of the date of hire.
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
